Pushya Arka Yoga is a day of natural interest in Bharateeya Astronomy.
This phenomena takes place when the star Pushya (Pushyami) confluences
with Sunday. It is classified under Amruta Sidhi Yogas and by our
ancient astrologers. They give us an instruction to observe meditation
while chanting our favorite Mantras on this day.
Sri Appannacharya emphasizes this point in Sri Raghavendra Stotra. He
says with firm voice. “सोदreg;सूर्यो परागे च पुष्यार्कादि
सदreg;ागदreg;े…..” one can get rid of evil troubles when he chants Sri
Raghavendra Mantra 108 times during Eclipse, Pushyarka and other
auspicious days.
While keeping the above significance in mind we are ornganising a special event called Shri Raghavendra Namanam.
Shri Raghavendra Namanam is a global program of chanting/reciting of Sri
Raghavendra Vijaya Kavya on account of Pushyarka Yoga (24.01.2016). Any
interested devotee can participate in it. This program is organised to
provide an opportunity for everybody who wants to praise and worship
our beloved Guru Sri Raghavendra Teertha Gurusarvabhoumaru. Please note
that chanting of His Stotra will magnify our prosperity when it is done
on Pushyarka Yoga.
If you are seriously interested in worshiping Him in His favourite way
and if you are ready to spend 30 mins in a day till 24.1.2016 then you
can certainly participate in this program. You need not even come to
Goa, just stay at your home and participate.
Devotees can recite Sri Raghavendra Vijaya either in Sanskrit (Composed
by Sri Narayana Acharya) or in Kannada (Composed by Sri Guru Jagannatha
Dasaru).
What is Raghavendra Vijaya?
Raghavendra Vijaya is the authentic documentation of life History of Sri
Raghavendra Teertharu. This Sanskrit epic was composed by Mahakavi Sri
Narayana Acharya who was a contemporary of Sri Raghavendra Teertha. 10
chapters of this epic describe various stages of Sri Raghavendra
Teertha’s life.
Your chantings will be dedicated to Lord Sri Vedavyasa Devaru on
24.01.2016 at 11:30 AM. The dedication will be made through offering
him one lakh flowers. It will be dedicated on behalf of devotees in case
they are unable to attend the program in person.
Is Kannada Raghavendra Vijaya a translation or commentary of Sanskrit Raghavendra Vijaya?
No. Raghavendra Vijaya in Kannada language is a different composition
with same subject. It is neither a translation nor a commentary of the
Sanskrit epic. Sri Guru Jagannatha Dasaru is staunch devotee of Sri
Rayaru. He lived in the 18th century. He was blessed with abundant
wisdom and knowledge in Vedanta. He was the poet to compose the maximum
number of songs and hymns of Sri Rayaru. Raghavendra Vijaya is one among
them.
