The pilgrims visiting Sri Tirumala Temple under sarva darshan get at present ‘two laddus @ Rs.10/-‘. For this necessary tickets are given in the queue lines themselves and they will collect their laddus after darshan. Similarly, Seegra Darshan and VIP Break ticket-holders also ‘two laddus’ are given based upon the ticket meant for the above darshans.
In addition to these laddus if somebody requires more number of laddus the system under operation is that they can only get these additional laddus on the basis of a ticket issued by the certain authorized officers which known as ‘Laddu Padi Ticket’. These are issued very sparingly on certain genuine reasons and not available to the general public. There is also criticism that part of these laddus are being black marketed by some middlemen. After the Boondi Making Machine has been installed increasing laddu production capacity it was decided on an experimental basis to de-link giving of those additional laddus against ‘Laddu Padi Ticket’ issued on recommendation and to make available these additional laddus also to the general public, at a cost of Rs.25/- each which is the cost at which these laddus are being given against ‘Laddu Padi Tickets’. This is being done only one day i.e., on 28 th March 2010 Sunday. There will be no issuing of ‘Laddu Padi Tickets’ on recommendation on 28 th March 2010 Sunday. Anybody who wish to have additional laddus can go to the laddu counter, pay the amount per person not more than ‘4 (four) laddus’ will be given at Rs.25/- each. This will be in-addition to what he or she would get as part of his darshan. This is being done only on experimental basis tomorrow and based upon the feed-back and the demand a review would be done and a decision taken on the method of making available additional laddus.
