Deepavali Festival-2018 : Safety measures.

To ensure an accident free Deepavali Festival-2018 Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Service Department suggests the following safety measures.
Allow the children to light fireworks only under the supervision of an adult members.
Do not light fire crackers inside the house but light them in an open space away from combustible materials. Never wear loose, flowing clothes while lighting fireworks. Hold sparklers away from the body . Never bend over the fireworks while lighting them. Light them from the side. Never light fireworks under confinement in a metal container. Never keep crackers in the pocket. Never store fire works or unpack them near a flame or source of heat. Never return to fire work once lit-it may explode or your face. Never light a flower pot holding it in hand. While lighting rocket like crackers, take precaution that it does not enter into an open window, door, open building, hut, etc. As for as possible avoid lighting of rockets. Never take unnecessary risk while lighting fire works just to show off to your friends. Keep a bucket of water handy while lighting fireworks and in case of any burn injury immediately pour clean water on the burnt skin. Get all your friend together and pool in your fireworks. Light them in an open space. Have some adult to supervise the display. This way you will be able to enjoy many more types of fire works and it will also be safer and cheaper. Show concern for infants, the aged, sick and animals. Do no light loud fire works near them or near Hospital.
