BEAUTIFICATION OF DEEPALAKSHMI

Drape a saree/dhoti to your lamp in 5 minutes It has been our tradition to light a lamp first before starting any auspicious events or rituals. For many of us, light symbolises the absence of darkness, grief and unhappiness. On the occasion of Deepavali, Bengaluru’s noted Inventor and craft skills expert Mamatha N Swamy has now come up with a series of videos where one can easily decorate the lamp by draping a saree or a dhoti. This way one can enhance the festival celebrations. Anybody can watch these tutorial videos and start decorating their lamps. Mamata said, "We give so much importance to the lamp but not for the decoration. Many may think why decorate a lamp for a few minutes of lighting. Let me remind you that the lamp stays there till the end of the programme and it is always a centre of attraction. In fact, lighting a lamp is quite easy using a saree or a dhoti. This decoration also add more value to Deepavali Festival celebrations." The videos which have been released by Bengaluru's own social service oriented YouTube channel eNarada has become viral with many non-resident Indians too loving the way the lamps are decorated in Namma Bengaluru.
